Ulsan City Distributes Additional 1,614 Units of 'Daeknae Jangbi'... Advanced Equipment with Latest ICT for Rapid Emergency Response in 'Emergency Safety Assurance Service Project'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A total of 1,614 additional ‘Daeknae Jangbi’ devices, which serve as emergency helpers for elderly people living alone in the Ulsan area to manage health and prevent solitary deaths, will be distributed by the end of this year.
Ulsan City has decided to establish the ‘Next-Generation Daeknae Jangbi’ by the end of the year in connection with the ‘Emergency Safety and Security Service Project.’
The ‘Emergency Safety and Security Service Project’ installs so-called ‘Daeknae Jangbi’ such as fire and entry detectors and emergency call devices in the homes of elderly people living alone who are in safety blind spots, supporting quick response in case of emergencies.
Since its implementation in 2008, the Emergency Safety and Security Service Project has supported the installation of Daeknae Jangbi in a total of 824 households up to this year, with emergency management personnel conducting real-time monitoring and safety management.
Including equipment replacement, the additional distribution this time will replace the Daeknae Jangbi in 694 households, which are among the 824 households previously installed and have become outdated or frequently malfunctioning, with the ‘Next-Generation Daeknae Jangbi.’
Additionally, 920 households of elderly people living alone who require constant safety checks among the recipients of customized care services will be newly selected to receive the ‘Next-Generation Daeknae Jangbi.’
The next-generation equipment consists of an emergency call device, fire, door, and activity detectors, and a tablet PC-based communication terminal device (gateway). It provides services such as health management through activity pattern and sleep state analysis, dementia prevention content, and lifestyle information.
