Japan's Daily New COVID-19 Cases Surpass 800 After Three Days

According to the local public broadcaster NHK's tally, as of 8:30 PM on the 3rd, the number of newly confirmed cases across Japan was 864. The daily death toll increased by 7, reaching 1,808.
Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases, including 103,412 cases detected at airport screenings and 712 cases from cruise ship infections, rose to 104,124. Japan's daily new cases had decreased from 877 on the 31st of last month to 614 on the 1st and 489 on the 2nd of this month.

On this day, the number of new COVID-19 cases by region was highest in Tokyo with 209 cases, followed by Osaka Prefecture with 156, Aichi Prefecture with 85, Hokkaido with 71, Kanagawa Prefecture with 69, and Hyogo Prefecture with 52.
