Genesis GV70 Design Praised by Foreign Media... "Original and Harmonious Design"
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] The design of the GV70, unveiled by Genesis last month, is receiving positive reviews from overseas automotive media and consumers.
The front of the GV70 features a Crest grille inspired by the Genesis logo, positioned lower than the two-line quad lamps, emphasizing an aggressive image and showcasing Genesis's identity.
The American automotive magazine MotorTrend described it as "a harmonious design that is eye-catching without being excessive," adding that "the Crest grille is also better integrated into the front compared to the large sedan G90," expressing a positive opinion.
Another American automotive media outlet, Autoblog, also praised the front design, saying, "The Crest grille is not overly large like other recently released models, which is good," and "the first impression is very handsome to the extent that it does not remind you of other brands."
The side of the GV70 creates an elegant and dynamic atmosphere with an arch-shaped parabolic line crossing the body, a voluminous rear fender (wheel cover), and a sleekly sloping C-pillar.
The rear applies thin two-line quad lamps and places all functional elements on the bumper to create a simple and pure image, while emphasizing dynamism with a bumper featuring a G-Matrix pattern, unique vertical exhaust pipes, and a body-colored diffuser.
The leading automotive media outlet Car and Driver commented, "The GV70 has dynamic proportions and expresses Genesis's unique design language most elegantly."
MotorTrend said, "The part where the triangular quarter glass appears to be floating due to the C-pillar is unique and cool," adding, "Some of the design features of the GV70 cannot be found in other Genesis models."
The American online automotive media Motor1 also stated, "The GV70 gives a more thrilling impression than the GV80 with its dramatic C-pillar shape and eye-catching upright exhaust pipes."
The driver-centered interior, emphasizing the Korean aesthetic element of 'beauty of emptiness,' features oval design elements with rich volume, sleek-shaped air vents, and an ergonomically structured center fascia.
Autoblog praised, "What really deserves praise is the interior," saying, "The wide-screen display, smoothly integrated air vents, and the most oval-shaped controls since the 1996 Ford Taurus are amazing design elements."
