Nowon-gu Youth Exchange Space 'Nowon Orang' Opens Its Doors
‘Orang (Oneul Neorang Narang Hamkke)’ = ‘Together with Youth Today’ Meaning ‘Every Moment of Youth is Special’ Operation of Spaces and Programs for Youth
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is opening 'Nowon Orang,' a youth exchange space that comprehensively supports the overall lives of young people.
Operating from the 4th of this month, 'Nowon Orang' is located on the 9th floor of KB Financial Nowon Plaza at Exit 6 of Nowon Station, at the intersection near Lotte Department Store in Sanggye-dong, where 39% of Nowon-gu's youth are concentrated.
The facilities of 'Nowon Orang' consist of approximately 331.10㎡ (about 100 pyeong) and include a counseling room for mental health consultations, an online interview room supporting youth employment, an open caf? for music listening and comfortable rest, and an education room for free discussions and training.
Regarding specific operations, various information is collected and provided, and various programs are operated to actively assist young people in entering society.
Representative programs include the counseling program 'DoCityTalk,' which reflects the diverse interests and needs of young people, and 'Information PongPong,' where youth can receive necessary information.
It can also be used as a community space for young people who share similar thoughts. Programs such as 'Moeum,' a place for youth exchange, 'Ieum,' where young people can engage in activities and accumulate experiences together, and 'Yeokeum,' a youth community to expand autonomous activities, are conducted to amplify the voices and vitality of youth.
One center director and five youth support managers reside on-site to connect young people to programs tailored to their individual situations and needs through online and offline counseling.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays and public holidays.

District Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "Nowon Orang, the youth support center, is part of the Nowon-style youth policy," adding, "We plan to promote Nowon’s unique youth-tailored projects in various fields such as jobs, housing, culture, and welfare to ensure that young people are not marginalized."
