The meeting, which was intended to explain the government's Green New Deal renewable energy initiatives rather than to debate pros and cons, turned tense at one point when Heo Yoo-in, secretary-general of the Suncheon Regional Wind Power Plant Opposition Countermeasure Committee, cited remarks by Chairperson Kim Mi-yeon of the Urban Construction Committee about wind power plants, creating a hostile atmosphere.
