View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Kim Geun-sik, the head of the Seoul Songpa-byeong district committee, criticized the Democratic Party of Korea's decision on the 2nd to nominate candidates for the Seoul and Busan mayoral by-elections, calling them "people who do bad things, gather among themselves to self-justify that it's okay, and are trapped in their own 'cave'."
On the same day, Kim wrote on his Facebook, "While the majority of the people criticize them, they mobilize a bizarre fake democracy called a party-wide vote and loudly proclaim that they will nominate candidates with overwhelming approval," strongly condemning them by saying, "They cheer for their own voting results with joy (shouting and jumping with happiness)."
Earlier, the Democratic Party announced on the 2nd that 211,804 party members (26.35%) participated in the vote held on the 31st of last month and the 1st of this month regarding the amendment of the party constitution to nominate candidates for the Seoul and Busan mayoral by-elections, with 86.64% in favor and 13.36% opposed.
Regarding this, Kim said, "This is a so-called 'over-representation of minority' phenomenon, where the hardcore hardline supporters (party member turnout 26.45%) claim to represent all party members and the entire nation," and criticized, "It is no different from North Korea's decision-making, which insists that the resolution of the Labor Party plenary session has procedural democratic legitimacy based on the bizarre logic of 'democratic centralism.'"
He added, "What is more interesting is that the 210,000 people who agreed to the Blue House petition board demanding the resignation of the 'coming-out prosecutors' and the 210,000 people who approved the party-wide vote this time are coincidentally similar in scale," and claimed, "In my opinion, the number of extreme hardline Ddaekae-moon (a derogatory term for people who blindly support President Moon Jae-in) nationwide is around 200,000."
'Coming-out prosecutors' refers to prosecutors who publicly criticized Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae's exercise of investigative authority, personnel authority, and inspection authority. The petition on the Blue House National Petition Board demanding their resignation gained more than 200,000 supporters on the same day (the 2nd).
Kim further analyzed, "If 200,000 people organize and unite, they control the party's decision-making (party-wide vote), dominate the party primary (Geum Tae-seop's primary defeat), decide the party leader (pro-Moon faction elected Lee Nak-yeon), produce the presidential candidate (pro-Moon symbolic candidate Moon Jae-in), and ultimately, the political power is manipulated by these approximately 200,000 Ddaekae-moon."

He concluded, "The autistic factional logic and extreme polarization of Korean politics are rooted in these people," and strongly criticized, "If you rely on the over-representation of a minority and betray the will of the people by nominating candidates for the by-elections, then from now on, remove the word 'Democratic' from the party name. 'Together Ddaekae-moon Party' would be more fitting."
