Benz Mobility Korea Acquires Star Rent-a-Car... Strengthening Position in Korean Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] Mercedes-Benz Mobility Korea announced on the 2nd that it has acquired Star Rent-a-Car Korea (hereinafter Star Rent-a-Car) to strengthen its position in the domestic premium long-term rental car market.
Founded in 2014, Star Rent-a-Car is a company specializing in providing premium long-term rental car services in Korea. MBMK, a subsidiary of Daimler Mobility, has been offering premium long-term rental car solutions to Korean consumers since establishing its corporation last year.
In the future, the products and services of the two companies will be integrated and offered under the MBMK brand. MBMK plans to leverage Star Rent-a-Car’s expertise in the long-term rental car business to provide more advanced mobility products and services. Domestic consumers will be able to experience efficient mobility solutions using Mercedes-Benz vehicles at 59 official Mercedes-Benz showrooms nationwide.
Yvonne Roslinbroich, CEO of Daimler Mobility and Head of Africa and Asia Pacific, said, "This acquisition is a good example of how important Korea is within the Daimler Mobility Group," adding, "We will continue to listen to Korean customers’ voices and strive to expand a ‘comprehensive mobility ecosystem’ that supports their comfortable lives."
Guillaume Fritz, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Mobility, stated, "We will provide a fast, easy, and digitalized experience to use Mercedes-Benz vehicles, as well as customized mobility solutions that meet the diverse needs of domestic customers."
