Andong-si Agricultural Technology Center Operates 'Children Farmer School'
Pilot Operation Selected for Andong Songhyeon Elementary and Songcheon Elementary Schools
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] The Andong City Agricultural Technology Center in Gyeongbuk announced on the 2nd that it has selected and is operating Songcheon Elementary School and Andong Songhyeon Elementary School as pilot projects for the Children's Farmer School operation.
The Children's Farmer School is a program activity linked to the school curriculum, involving students in seedling planting, crop management, and harvesting processes using the school garden.
Since July, various experiential activities have been conducted, starting with blueberry harvesting, followed by corn and sweet potato harvesting, making seasonal fruit syrup, preparing healthy meals, and rice harvesting. Andong City explained that in the future, activities such as making chrysanthemum tea and experiencing a papaya farm are planned.
