Air Busan Operates 'Destinationless Flight' to Commemorate Aviation Day
First Flight Route: Busan~Daegu~Seoul~Jeju~Gwangju~Hadong~Sacheon Returning to Busan
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Air Busan announced on the 31st that it conducted a "flight without a destination" event over two days starting from the 30th to commemorate Aviation Day.
According to Air Busan, flight BX8930, carrying 114 passengers, departed from Gimhae International Airport at 10:30 a.m. the previous day and circled over Daegu, Seoul, Jeju, Gwangju, Hadong, and Sacheon for about 2 hours and 20 minutes before returning to Gimhae Airport.
This sightseeing flight, planned as a special flight for Aviation Day, included aviation experts such as pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance staff on board, who provided an introduction to various aspects of aviation and held a Q&A session. Additionally, Air Busan gave all passengers souvenirs including a "logbook (flight record notebook)" used by crew members to record flight details, an A321LR aircraft keychain, and lanyards.
For the in-flight meal, crew meals (crew meal) typically eaten by senior flight attendants were served. Furthermore, various prizes such as domestic flight tickets and Air Busan model airplanes were offered through an in-flight lucky draw event.
During the flight, passengers were able to enjoy various scenery through the windows as the plane flew at a lower altitude than usual over Jeju. Also, as a regional airline, with the cooperation of Gimhae Airport's air traffic control, the flight circled over the coastal areas of Haeundae and Gwangalli in Busan to allow passengers to enjoy the sea views before landing.
