Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Rises as the 'Top Defender' Against Cyberattacks in the Public Sector
'2020 Cyber Attack Defense Competition' Public Sector Winner
Record Participation of 289 Teams Including Overseas Teams

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chae-seok] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power announced on the 30th that it won first place in the public sector at the '2020 Cyber Attack Defense Competition,' receiving the Director of the National Intelligence Service Award and a prize of 10 million won.
According to KHNP, the competition, first held in 2017, is Korea's representative cybersecurity event. This year, a record 289 teams participated, including 5 teams from overseas who joined online. The competition was divided into public and general sectors.
KHNP advanced two teams to the finals in the public sector, and one of these teams (team name=APR1400) won first place.
With remote work becoming routine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the main task of the competition was to simulate hacking attacks targeting a cyber pandemic and to defend and restore systems in real time.
