Listening to Complaints During Patrol... Incheon Police Agency Fully Implements Community Safety Patrol System
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] A system in which police officers meet residents during patrol activities to directly hear various complaints such as safety concerns and resolve them will be fully implemented.
The Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 30th that it will fully implement the 'Community Safety Patrol System' at all local police substations and outposts in the region.
In Incheon, the system was first pilot-operated last month at police substations and outposts under the Yeonsu Police Station and received positive evaluations from residents.
In the case of Songdo 2 Police Substation of Yeonsu Station, during recent community safety patrol activities, they received a complaint that "there are many vehicles illegally parked on Sinhang-daero, raising concerns about traffic accidents." In response, they cooperated with Yeonsu District to conduct joint crackdowns on illegally parked vehicles and requested the Incheon Port Authority to install safety facilities such as wire fences.
The Community Safety Patrol System has eight models depending on the type of area (urban or rural), whether there is a dedicated police officer, and whether there is focused management of specific areas. Each police substation and outpost will select and implement a model suitable for their own circumstances, such as the number of personnel on duty, the number of patrol cars, and the characteristics of the jurisdiction.
