[Concall] Samsung Electronics "Considering Production Extension Due to Increased Demand for Large LCDs from Clients"
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 29th, during the Q3 earnings conference call, Samsung Electronics addressed the possibility of extending production lines due to the recovery of the LCD market, stating, "Large-size LCD panels are experiencing a short-term rebound in pent-up demand caused by COVID-19, and it is true that customers have inquired about the possibility of short-term extension of LCD production. We are considering supplying LCD panels in the short term using lines other than those being converted to QD Display, but nothing has been finalized. The extension of LCD panel production will be reviewed with the company's profit as the top priority, without affecting the transition to the QD Display business."
