Jaan Prepares to Launch Premium Fashion Masks... "Pursuing Domestic and Overseas Certifications"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Jaan announced on the 29th that it has completed preparations for the launch of a premium fashion mask. Along with the initial production of masks, the company is pursuing KF94 certification from the Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and plans to obtain FDA certification in the United States and CE certification in Europe.
Jaan has completed the installation of all equipment necessary for mask production and finalized the mask package design, currently undergoing the final design approval process. Once the related processes are completed, the initial production of masks will proceed.
To launch the premium fashion mask, Jaan has also completed licensing agreements with Italian luxury brands ‘Ereuno’ and ‘Hydrogen’. These brands have high recognition in the Japanese and European markets, and once mask production is in full swing, exports to major overseas countries are planned.
A Jaan representative said, “Jaan’s premium fashion masks target people in their 20s to 40s who are interested in fashion, and are designed to match various clothing styles,” adding, “Since masks have become essential daily items due to COVID-19, we reflected consumers’ demands that existing masks are not suitable for styling, and are introducing masks that can serve as fashion items.” He continued, “For exports, it is essential to obtain not only domestic certification but also related certifications such as the US FDA and European CE, so we are pursuing overseas certifications.”
Jaan has already submitted documents for FDA certification and expects the FDA certification process to be completed by November. If the European CE and Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety KF94 certifications are also approved, the company is expected to have quality competitiveness in the premium mask market.
Jaan CEO An Sichan said, “Since the premium fashion masks target the premium market, their price will be set higher than regular masks,” adding, “To match the premium mask, we focused our design capabilities on quality improvements such as design and quarantine functions, antibacterial and deodorizing functions, materials that reduce irritation, and minimize makeup smudging.”

Jaan separated from the Hansol group earlier this year after a change in the largest shareholder. Currently, the company is undergoing certification procedures such as Main-Biz, Inno-Biz, and venture company certifications to receive government benefits in various fields including finance, taxation, and exports. Once these certifications are completed next month, the mask export business is expected to gain further momentum.
