Songpa ICT Security Cluster Complex Development Project Kicks Off... District Unit Planning Zone Designated
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Songpa ICT Security Cluster development project, which is developing the site of the Central Radio Management Office in Garak-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, is set to accelerate.
On the 29th, Seoul City announced that it held the 15th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee and "approved with modifications" the designation and decision plan for the Songpa ICT Security Cluster district unit planning zone within the Central Radio Management Office site in Garak-dong 100 area, Songpa-gu.
In July 2018, the government resolved the "Basic Plan for Consignment Development of the Songpa ICT Security Cluster" at the National Property Policy Deliberation Committee to enhance the utilization of underused national property and foster a hub for the ICT security industry, selecting it as a national agenda. By 2025, a total project cost of 567.4 billion KRW will be invested to develop the 174,000㎡ Central Radio Management Office site into a complex business district.

With this district unit plan decision, the first phase project, the expansion of the Central Radio Management Office building, will proceed first. Subsequently, through prior negotiations on urban planning changes with Seoul City, the second phase will include the construction of five public institutions such as the Internet Intrusion Response Center, startup residential support facilities, and general business and commercial facilities.
