Regarding Absence from Preliminary Talks: "I Can't Go Just to See President Moon's Face"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, stated on the 28th that regarding the 5.18 historical distortion punishment law promoted by the Democratic Party of Korea, “As I said when I went to Gwangju, I think it is right to make such a law.”
After visiting the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) on the same day, Kim told reporters, “We will review various aspects during the legislative process on how to handle the content,” expressing his stance.
Regarding his absence from the pre-discussion of the policy speech, Kim said, “You should meet only when you intend to solve some problem; you cannot just go to see President Moon Jae-in’s face.”
When asked about some within the party advocating for an early party convention, Kim responded, “Don’t ask me about that.”

Regarding his visit to the KCTU, Kim said, “It is wrong that our party came here for the first time today after six years,” adding, “Workers are the ones suffering the most from the recent COVID-19 situation. We came to explore what views the labor union holds.”
