At this event, Superintendent Jang expressed special support and cooperation for teachers who are striving to protect children's health and right to learn amid the COVID-19 situation.
The 'Teachers-Parents Multi-Meeting' gathers vice principals and parent association presidents from each school to review the appropriateness of the school parent association structure and share cases of parent association operations. It was also organized to narrow the perception gap between teachers and parents regarding parental participation in school education.
After the teachers-parents multi-meeting, Superintendent Jang, along with Jeonnam Provincial Assembly member Lee Min-jun, met separately with parents to hear their voices on how Jeonnam education policies are being implemented at schools.
Naju parents expressed satisfaction with the policy to reduce the number of students per first-grade elementary school class by 25 and hoped for its continuous expansion. They also requested support without disparities between the Innovation City and existing urban areas. Additionally, they raised questions and suggestions in various areas such as strengthening the curriculum of small schools, improving the quality of remote classes, the basic academic competency responsibility system, and learning and care that leaves no child behind.
Kim Sun-yu, president of the Parents' Association Network, stated, “For the school parent associations established according to the ordinance to take root, it is necessary to have dedicated parent association rooms, allocate more than 2% of the school education budget for parental participation, and regularize meetings between the parent association and school principals.”

Superintendent Jang Seok-woong said, “The greatest asset of Jeonnam education, which faces poor educational conditions, is its teachers. Teachers are people with high self-esteem, and when given conditions to demonstrate spontaneity and creativity, they perform at their best,” adding, “Let us open the future of Jeonnam education through encouragement and cooperation from parents.”
