Gwangju Nam-gu to Host 'Nam-gu Residents Book Festival' on the 31st
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 27th that it will hold the "7th Nam-gu Residents' Book Festival" on the 31st at the area behind Bigsupo in Juwol-dong Pureungil Park.
This year's Nam-gu Residents' Book Festival has reduced face-to-face events to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and will proceed in a way that allows all generations, from children to the elderly, to enjoy cultural experiences through various books.
First, the face-to-face events include three corners: the opening ceremony held at 11 a.m. on the 31st at the square behind Bigsupo, a book concert, and distribution of Book Start packages.
Right after the congratulatory speech announcing the start of the Book Festival, a book concert titled "Books That Comfort Me" will be held between District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae and residents.
Following this, there will be a cello and piano performance stage.
Along with the opening ceremony, a free distribution event of book packages including two picture books will be held until 3 p.m. at the square behind Bigsupo for infants and elementary school students residing in the district.
Also, on the day of the festival, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., an event will be held where participants who share the Nam-gu Residents' Book Festival event with hashtags can receive book gift certificates.
In addition, from the 31st until the end of next month, the "Book Reading Walking Trail" will be operated by dividing the Pureungil Park walking trail from Daeseong Girls' High School entrance to the Pureungil Small Library into five sections, introducing books according to the theme of each section.
The books selected through the Nam-gu Residents' Book Festival Promotion Committee and writers' meetings can be seen on banners.
