Upon receiving the report, the maritime police dispatched the coastal rescue boat from Jido Police Substation, boarded the patient and guardian at Jinri Pier on Imjado Island, and arrived at Songdo Port, Jido, at around 3:11 a.m., handing them over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.
Earlier, at 8:55 p.m. on the 26th, the maritime police received a report that crew member J (49 years old) of the nearshore eel trap fishing vessel A (86 tons, Tongyeong-registered), operating 16 km northeast off Gageodo Island, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, was seriously injured when his finger was caught in a hydraulic device during work inside the vessel. The patient was transported from the sea near Manjaedo and arrived at Seomang Port, Jindo, at around 12:40 a.m., where he was handed over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.
