GS25 Halloween Day Products, Sales Increase in Residential and Office Districts
Sales by commercial district show growth of 60.8% in residential areas and 41.3% in office districts
Increasing customer demand to enjoy Halloween atmosphere with family and colleagues at home and office
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Sales of Halloween Day products are increasing in convenience stores, centered around residential and office districts.
On the 27th, GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, analyzed sales of Halloween Day-related products from the 1st to the 25th of this month and found that sales in residential districts increased by 60.8% compared to the same period last year. Sales also grew in office areas (41.3%), entertainment districts (5.8%), and school/academy areas (2.1%).
GS25 explained, "Compared to previous years when large-scale product sales mainly occurred in entertainment and school/academy districts from early October ahead of Halloween Day, sales in residential and office districts have significantly increased." GS25 analyzed that due to the impact of COVID-19, there has been increased demand from customers who host Halloween parties at home, a safe and personal space, and those who enjoy the atmosphere by purchasing Halloween-themed products with colleagues at work.
Since the end of last month, GS25 has launched about 30 Halloween Day products using the "Little Ghost Casper" character under the "Home Party" concept, considering this year's social atmosphere and environment. To help customers fully enjoy the Halloween mood, GS25 applied orange colors and pumpkin motifs and released snack, jelly, and candy products featuring the kind and cute Little Ghost Casper character.
Popular products include the Trolley Halloween Best set consisting of jellies and candies, Nongshim Halloween Mentos, and Lotte Eggjjang Casper.

Additionally, an event where GS25 gave away 10,000 "Little Ghost Casper microfiber blankets" to customers who purchased Halloween promotional products through stamp accumulation in the "My Refrigerator" section of the GS Retail integrated membership app THE POP ended just four days after opening.
