"Check with Smartphone" SKT Unveils Fire Response Solution in Your Hand
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] SK Telecom announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with FIREKIM, a company specializing in fire extinguishing devices, for the 'Establishment of an Automatic Fire Extinguishing System Based on Fire Sign Data Analysis Using Wireless Communication' project.
Accordingly, the two companies plan to develop a fire detection and response system that can be easily installed inside factory equipment and devices. By utilizing this system, factory managers can check the real-time safety status of equipment and devices anytime and anywhere through smartphones or PCs, and respond via alarms in case of fire risk.
Inside factory equipment and devices, heat generated by electric current and sparks caused by voltage pose a high fire risk, but these are not visible externally, making fire detection and prevention difficult.
The two companies plan to protect factories from fire threats by using fire extinguishing equipment embedded with sensors that can wirelessly monitor device status information such as temperature and smoke without additional wiring work, applicable inside factory equipment and devices.
Additionally, the newly developed fire prevention solution will be added to SK Telecom's current subscription-based smart factory service for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, 'Factory in My Hand.'
'Factory in My Hand' is a monthly subscription service based on SK Telecom's customized 5G-based big data analysis solution for manufacturing companies, 'Metatron Grandview,' which predicts the current status and maintenance timing of manufacturing equipment in real time, enhancing manufacturing efficiency through efficient equipment operation.
Currently, SK Telecom is conducting a free trial event of the 'Factory in My Hand' service for domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, and the newly developed fire prevention solution will also be offered for free trial after development.
