[Asia Economy Reporter Eunbyeol Kim] Lee Ju-yeol, Governor of the Bank of Korea, announced on the 23rd that he would "handle it as quickly as possible" regarding the Bank of Korea headquarters cornerstone confirmed to be in the handwriting of It? Hirobumi.
On the same day, during the comprehensive audit of the National Assembly's Committee on Budget and Accounts, when Go Yong-jin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, asked for an official stance on the It? handwritten cornerstone, the Governor stated, "We are internally considering about three possible ways to handle the cornerstone," adding, "We will discuss these options with the Cultural Heritage Administration, but it must go through the review committee of the Cultural Heritage Administration."
The Cultural Heritage Administration formed an advisory group of three experts on calligraphy to verify whether the two characters 'Jeongcho (定礎)' engraved on the Bank of Korea headquarters (Historic Site No. 280, currently the Currency Museum) cornerstone were indeed written by It?. On the 20th, they conducted an on-site investigation. The results confirmed that the characters exhibit features of It?'s handwriting, considering the ink brush strokes and the slanting strokes descending from the upper left to the lower right.
