[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will hold the 2020 Geumcheon Youth Harmony Festival Multicultural Festival ‘Sesangeun Neoljwi’ on the 24th at 4 PM through a live broadcast on the Geumcheon Youth Center’s YouTube channel.
This online multicultural festival is designed to let youth feel like they are traveling the world through a variety of programs such as performances and experiences from various countries, travel reviews, real-time live country introductions, and events, along with a unique method of proceeding.
Travel tips will be shared through travel reviews from various countries and pre-recorded travel photos and videos, and participants can experience world cultures such as multicultural costumes and food through kits delivered in advance.
Additionally, performances that delight the eyes and ears, such as ‘Pungmul’ performances and orchestra concerts by youth clubs, as well as various real-time chat events including national flag and capital quizzes and learning greetings in different languages, will be provided.
Meanwhile, the ‘Geumcheon Youth Harmony Festival’ is a representative local youth festival where local youth can freely express their talents and creativity. The youth planning group directly plans and promotes the entire festival process. An online opening ceremony and summer festival were held in August, with a closing ceremony scheduled for November.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope that through this online world travel, youth can fully relieve the stress accumulated due to COVID-19,” and added, “We will continue to actively support not only the Geumcheon Youth Harmony Festival but also various activities so that youth can participate and showcase their talents and creativity.”
