Jeju Coast Guard Agency Holds 'Jeju Regional Coastal Accident Prevention Council' Meeting
Establishing a Public-Private Cooperation System to Prevent Recurrence of Coastal Accidents and Other Incidents
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Regional Coast Guard held the 'Jeju Regional Coastal Accident Prevention Council' on the 22nd.
According to the Jeju Coast Guard, the 'Jeju Regional Coastal Accident Prevention Council' is a consultative body composed of public officials from related agencies, military personnel, and civilian, government, and military experts such as professors, established under the 「Coastal Accident Prevention Act」. It has been operating since 2015 to propose various opinions on coastal safety management and to maintain a cooperative system among related agencies.
Fourteen participants from the Coast Guard, local governments, fire departments, Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency, professors, and marine-related local organizations such as fishing and underwater leisure associations attended the meeting, which proceeded in the order of ▲2020 coastal safety management achievements ▲coordination of tasks among related agencies for coastal accident prevention and recurrence prevention.
In particular, among various agenda items, broad discussions were held on diverse opinions such as safety management measures for year-round use of beaches and measures to prevent underwater leisure accidents.
