[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Asiana Airlines announced on the 22nd that the 18th Asiana International Short Film Festival (AISFF), sponsored by the company, will open.
The 18th AISFF, held from today until the 25th at Cinecube Gwanghwamun in Seoul, will be conducted in accordance with 'social distancing' measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
First, the festival period has been shortened from the usual 6 days to 4 days. The opening ceremony (today at 7 PM) and closing ceremony (on the 25th at 7 PM) will be held online without guests or audiences, and will be live-streamed on Naver TV.
As a preventive measure, social distancing will be applied with online reservations and on-site ticket sales planned. On-site, QR check-in and temperature checks will be conducted, and hand sanitizers and spare masks will be provided.
This AISFF received 5,110 submissions from 124 countries, and works were selected for the international competition, domestic competition, and new filmmaker categories. In total, 83 films from 30 countries will be screened, including special screenings.
