[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) is receiving positive responses by operating the 'Gaetga School' in the clean waters of Yeojaman.
Gaetga School is a family experience program promoted to raise awareness of the importance of nature and ecological protection through experiential learning utilizing the natural environment of Yeojaman.
Since its inception in 2018, 24 sessions have been held with about 480 participants, providing an educational venue where citizens can appreciate the value of the sea and tidal flats.
The program is available for Yeosu citizen families and will be operated until November next month.
Each class is conducted for 20 people over 2 hours, and this month's sessions are already fully booked.
Next month’s sessions are scheduled for the 7th, 14th, and 21st, and applications can be made on a first-come, first-served basis starting two weeks in advance through the Yeosu City website’s ‘OK Integrated Reservation System’.
On Saturdays, the 24th and 31st, sessions will be held at Jangcheok Village in Sora-myeon and Woongcheon Sea respectively, under the themes ‘Let’s find friends living in the Gaetjandi colonies’ and ‘The sea road opens, why is that?’
