Muan-gun, Free Influenza Vaccination Provided
No Paid Vaccinations Due to Unstable Vaccine Supply
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 21st that free influenza vaccinations have been provided since the 19th for seniors aged 62 and older and vulnerable groups.
Seniors aged 70 and older have been able to receive free vaccinations at nationwide public health centers and private commissioned medical institutions since the 19th, and those aged 62 to 69 can receive free vaccinations according to their age group starting from the 20th.
Among residents aged 19 to 61, vulnerable groups such as recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, near-poverty recipients, persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, and registered organ donors can receive free vaccinations at local public health centers, health clinics, and health care centers starting from the 20th by presenting identification and supporting documents.
When visiting medical institutions for vaccination, wearing a mask is mandatory, and after vaccination, individuals should remain at the vaccination site for about 10 to 20 minutes to observe for any adverse reactions such as fever, hives, or dizziness.
Additionally, since the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency limits the number of vaccinations per day per physician to prevent COVID-19 infection, it is recommended to check the availability of same-day vaccination before visiting medical institutions. The county public health center can vaccinate up to 200 people per day, and health clinics and health care centers can vaccinate up to 100 people per day.

A county official stated, “Due to unstable vaccine supply, we will prioritize free vaccinations for vulnerable national recipients such as children under 12 with weak immunity, and therefore, paid vaccinations will not be available this year. We ask for the understanding of the residents.”
