Gwangyang-si Adds 2 More Sites to National and Public Childcare Center Green Remodeling Project
Contribution to Improving Childcare Environment with 2.183 Billion KRW National Funding Secured for 7 Daycare Centers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] On the 20th, Gwangyang City announced that two additional sites, Yonggang and Gwangyang Daycare Center, were selected as targets for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Public Building Green Remodeling Project' the day before.
Including the previously selected daycare centers (Hanbit, Baekhap, Saenara, Haetbit, Donghwanara), Gwangyang City secured a total of 2.183 billion KRW in national funds for seven sites.
The Green Remodeling Project is a program that supports project costs to improve the energy performance and reduce energy consumption of public buildings, whose indoor environments have deteriorated due to aging of public buildings over 15 years after completion, causing decreased insulation, condensation, and fine dust spread.
With the additional selection of daycare centers as project targets, the city plans to enhance energy performance and improve convenience for infants and toddlers at seven national and public daycare centers by receiving 2.183 billion KRW in national funds to carry out ▲high-performance insulation ▲window replacement ▲facility construction, among others.
Kim Mi-ran, Director of the Education and Childcare Division, said, "Through the additional selection in this Green Remodeling public contest project, we expect the conversion to green buildings that improve the indoor environment of daycare centers and reduce unnecessary energy consumption so that children can use them comfortably."
