Prosecutors Seek Life Sentence for 60-Year-Old Who Killed Former Dongseo Employee, Dismembered and Abandoned the Body

At the sentencing hearing held on the 20th at the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 15 (Presiding Judge Pyo Geuk-chang), the prosecution requested a life sentence for defendant A (62). The prosecution reportedly asked the court to impose this sentence, citing the brutality of the crime. The defense made a final plea for leniency, and A also acknowledged the charges and expressed remorse in his closing statement.

A was arrested and indicted on charges of killing his former brother-in-law B (48) at an officetel in Jung-gu, Incheon, on July 15, mutilating the body, placing it in a bag, and abandoning it in the trunk of his vehicle. B's body was found three days after the incident in a bag inside A's car trunk parked in a parking lot in Michuhol-gu, Incheon. Investigations revealed that A committed the crime after becoming angry over B's derogatory remarks about his son.
