Pyo Wansu, Former SisaIN CEO, Appointed as New Chairman of Korea Press Foundation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 19th that it has appointed Pyo Wansu (photo), former CEO of SisaIN, as the new chairman of the Korea Press Foundation.
Chairman Pyo began his career in the media industry as a reporter for Kyunghyang Shinmun and has served as international editor of Sisa Journal, editorial writer for Kyunghyang Shinmun, president of Gyeongin Broadcasting, president of YTN, chairman of OhmyNews, and CEO of SisaIN.
The Korea Press Foundation recommended the chairman candidate to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism after a public recruitment process and review by the executive recommendation committee. The ministry explained, "(Chairman Pyo) has a high level of understanding of the media field and industry through various media and occupations, and is also recognized for his leadership as a manager, having served as a media company president and achieved visible management results."
