President Moon Jae-in is presiding over the "COVID-19 Vaccine and Treatment Development On-site Meeting" held at SK Bioscience in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, a company developing vaccines for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), on the afternoon of the 15th.
It was revealed later that President Moon Jae-in sent donations and orchids after hearing that the security guard of the apartment where he lived before his inauguration was battling cancer.
The Blue House announced on the 18th that President Moon sent an orchid pot, donations, and gifts on the 16th to Han Dae-su, a security guard working at an apartment in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, who is undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.
This apartment is where President Moon lived until May 2017, just before his inauguration. Currently, residents are taking turns to cover Han's security duties and are also known to be collecting donations.
