"Spread of Work-Life Balance Companies"... Ministry of Employment and Labor Calls for Excellent Cases of 'Work Culture Innovation'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Ministry of Employment and Labor is holding a contest for exemplary companies that have innovated work culture. This is to spread innovative cases of work culture, such as non-face-to-face work implemented due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The contest themes are ▲cases of introducing and utilizing innovative work culture systems such as telecommuting after the spread of COVID-19 ▲unique company-specific systems related to work culture innovation and practices of work-life balance campaigns.
Companies wishing to participate can submit the status of introduction, utilization cases, effects, and plans of innovative work culture systems by filling out the provided form and sending it via email from the 19th until the 9th of next month. Submitted works will be reviewed, and the winners will be announced next month.
A total of 16 outstanding cases will be selected. Awards include Grand Prize (1), Excellence Award (2), Merit Award (6), and Encouragement Award (7), with certificates and prize money awarded by the Minister. The final winning works will be posted on the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s work-life balance website, blog, Facebook, and other related accounts.

Hwang Bo-guk, Director of Employment Support Policy at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, stated, "This contest will serve as an opportunity to verify the effects of changes in work methods that emerged due to COVID-19 within companies," adding, "We will actively support the creation of flexible work environments and the spread of a work-life balance work culture."
