[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City (Acting Mayor Byun Seong-wan) and Busan Technopark (Director Choi Jong-yeol) announced that on the 16th at 3 PM, they will hold the 'Busan Marine Mobility Regulatory Free Zone Seminar' at BEXCO, attended by about 50 people including shipbuilding industry stakeholders.
The seminar will be held under the theme "The Marine Mobility Regulatory Free Zone Project Drives Busan's Future."
It will explore alternatives and avenues to overcome the slump in Busan's key industry, shipbuilding, and secure new growth engine industries.
Lee Seong-beom, head of research at Haemin Heavy Industries, will present the promotion plan for the marine mobility regulatory free zone, followed by presentations on topics such as the development of LPG engine power hybrid electric propulsion technology, development of LPG outboard motor technology for ships, development of LPG supply technology for ships, and measures to revitalize Busan's marine mobility industry.
Busan City plans to foster LPG fuel, which is commonly used on land but not yet applied at sea, as a new industry by applying it to ships.
To this end, safety will be verified, and in response to the government's eco-friendly ship law enforcement and the domestic ship market's eco-friendly energy policy, domestic and international LPG propulsion ship construction standards will be established.
