Suncheon Fire Station Conducts Special Fire Drill for Apartment Fire Preparedness
Waterproofing of On-Site Connection Valve Facilities and Training for Entry and Deployment of Aerial Ladder Trucks
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon Fire Station (Chief Ha Soo-cheol) conducted a water discharge training using the connection water supply facility and high ladder truck entry and deployment training on the 15th at Yongdang Daeju Piorea Apartment in Seomyeon to ensure rapid fire suppression in case of fire in multi-family housing.
This training by Suncheon Fire Station is planned to improve rapid initial response and on-site response capability of dispatched firefighting forces in preparation for fires in multi-family housing, where there is a high risk of large-scale casualties, and will be conducted at a total of 16 multi-family housing sites in Suncheon City and Gurye County.
On the first day of training held at Yongdang Daeju Piorea Apartment, the focus was on systematic firefighting operations and tactics establishment and proficiency in using fire extinguishing facilities through △ locating connection water supply facilities within the complex and checking for malfunctions using pump trucks △ firefighting force entry training using emergency elevators and evacuation stairs △ high ladder truck deployment training.
On this day, Suncheon Fire Station conducted checks for obstacles to high ladder truck entry, confirmed and trained entry routes for each building within the multi-family housing, verified the deployment and life rescue capability of the high ladder truck, identified other issues and improvement measures, and provided firefighting safety education for related personnel.
In addition, practical training on the overall operating principles, inspection, and understanding of rescue of firefighting facilities was conducted for new members, focusing the training on improving the members’ ability to inspect firefighting facilities and strengthening their expertise.
