Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Obtains Domestic Safety and Health Standard Certification
"Proven Systematic Occupational Safety and Health Management Capability"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power announced on the 15th that it has acquired the domestic standard certification for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (KOSHA MS). This certification adds "management support, worker participation, and stakeholder expansion" to the existing KOSHA18001 standard.
The Occupational Health and Safety Management System is a systematic safety and health activity certification system in which the top management declares a safety and health policy as part of corporate management guidelines, establishes, implements, and inspects execution plans to ensure continuous improvement.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power was recognized for its efforts to establish an autonomous safety and health system, including strengthening the safety management organization, supporting certification costs for partner companies' occupational health and safety management systems, and promoting the construction of an industrial safety training center to realize a safety-first, secure workplace.
Previously, in December last year, the company obtained the international standard certification for the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO45001).
Following this, by acquiring KOSHA MS through an audit by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, the company's safety management capabilities have been officially recognized by both domestic and international certification bodies.
