Kim Jong-in: "Moon Jae-in, who demanded thorough investigations into Lime and Optimus, should first create the necessary conditions"
[Asia Economy Reporters Kim Hyemin and Im Chunhan] Kim Jong-in, Emergency Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, on the 15th demanded, regarding President Moon Jae-in's call for a thorough investigation by the prosecution into the Lime and Optimus private equity fund cases, "Please first create conditions that allow for a sincere investigation."
Chairman Kim made these remarks during an emergency committee meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, stating, "I am skeptical about whether the prosecution can maintain a thorough investigation at this point."
He pointed out, "Although many victims have been produced, the investigation has been sluggish, and the general public harbors many suspicions. If the investigation is neglected and this is called prosecution reform, then one cannot help but question the very existence of our prosecution."
Chairman Kim added, "The current government has repeatedly emphasized prosecution reform, but I believe prosecution reform does not mean the incapacitation of the prosecution. However, since Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae took office, the minister has been exercising all investigative command authority that the Prosecutor General holds. Practically, one cannot help but question the existence of the Prosecutor General and the Supreme Prosecutors' Office."
Regarding Ambassador Lee Soo-hyuk's remarks on the Korea-US alliance, Chairman Kim said, "For the past 70 years, we have continued economic development and war deterrence based on the Korea-US alliance, so the ambassador's statement that the foundation could change is something that could cause considerable surprise to the public. He made remarks implying that the US-Korea relationship maintained until now could be altered, and President Moon must provide a clear answer to the public on whether this is an individual opinion or the government's fundamental diplomatic direction."
He also reiterated criticism of the declaration of the end of the war, emphasizing, "President Moon continues to hold a persistent view, but in a situation where North Korea is not denuclearizing, one cannot help but doubt whether there is deep reflection on what impact an end-of-war agreement would have on the security of the Republic of Korea."

I urge the government to awaken to whom the current housing policy is really for."
