Gwangju Health and Environment Research Institute Achieves 'Satisfaction' in Living Environment Proficiency for 7 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Health and Environment Research Institute announced on the 14th that it has been recognized as an excellent analysis institution by receiving a "satisfactory" rating for seven consecutive years in the 2020 proficiency tests conducted by the Ministry of Environment (National Institute of Environmental Research) in three living environment fields: odor, indoor air quality, and environmental hazardous factors.
This proficiency evaluation in the living environment field was conducted on 145 institutions nationwide, including city and provincial health and environment research institutes, national and public research institutions, and environment-related measurement and analysis organizations.
The city health and environment research institute collected and analyzed samples for 19 items such as volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, complex odors, and heavy metals, and received a "pass" judgment in all items, reaffirming its reliability as a professional testing and inspection institution.
The proficiency test is conducted annually for Ministry of Environment-affiliated organizations, research institutions, and measurement agencies to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analysis results from testing and inspection institutions. If an institution receives a failing grade, it cannot perform inspection tasks and thus loses its function as a professional testing and inspection institution.
