Na Kyung-won: "Prosecutors, Do Not Follow the Regime Trying to Make Me a Scapegoat"
"Make a swift decision on all matters according to the law"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Liberty Korea Party floor leader Na Kyung-won on the 14th urged the prosecution to "quickly conclude all matters related to me according to the law," adding, "I hope the prosecution will not blindly follow the regime trying to make me a scapegoat and promptly finish the investigation. The longer it drags on, the more the prosecution invites distrust."
Na said on Facebook that day, "Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae appeared at the National Assembly audit and broadcasted live the investigation details related to me. I suspect the prosecution is keeping the case in their cabinet to use it as a card when unfavorable, fearing that a quick conclusion would reduce their leverage," he said.
Na pointed out, "The prosecution decided not to indict regarding my election text message sending, 13 false accusations by Ahn Jin-geol, head of the Minsheng Economy Research Institute, and the targeted broadcasts aired by MBC four times. Since my text message sending was never a matter worth investigating and was forcibly reported, the prosecution's decision not to indict is a very natural step. The essence lies in the meticulous political intention hidden behind this non-indictment decision. Ultimately, they wanted to grant impunity to the illegal election interference that was systematically carried out throughout last year and this year's general elections," he criticized.
Na added, "MBC aired false defamatory broadcasts targeting only me no less than four times. Ahn repeatedly made 13 false accusations to tarnish my reputation and lead public opinion. Moreover, unidentified forces appeared in my constituency to deliberately disrupt election campaigns. This is a malicious report reminiscent of the second Kim Dae-up incident and the past mad cow disease false reports. It was a political operation planned to undermine the opposition candidate's support rate right before the election," he added.
Na said, "The prosecution ultimately intends to remain silent on this 'Na Kyung-won killing triangular squad.' This ridiculous scenario was predictable from the so-called 'Choo Mi-ae prosecution.' Meanwhile, they are poised to keep delaying the matters related to me that should be concluded swiftly. They say 'the remaining charges are still under investigation,' but it means they will keep bringing them up to shake things up whenever they want," he stated.

Na declared, "I will immediately file a 'reconsideration request' against the prosecution's non-indictment decision regarding Ahn and MBC. I will never tolerate the prosecution using my non-indictment as an excuse to grant impunity to these two. Elections are the flower of democracy and the exercise of sovereignty by the people. The legal responsibility must be held until the very end. I will never condone this injustice," he said.
