Gwangyang-si Operates 'Visiting Children's Safety Education' Program
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it will operate a "Visiting Children's Safety Education" program targeting local daycare centers to prevent safety accidents among children, a vulnerable group.
The "Visiting Children's Safety Education" program was established to educate children, who lack quick response skills and momentary judgment compared to adults in dangerous situations, about various safety accidents that can occur in daily life, aiming to enhance their accident response abilities and raise awareness of safety importance.
In this education program, 10 safety instructors will visit daycare centers directly to provide training on various topics such as actions to take in case of fire, traffic order, how to use crosswalks, infectious disease prevention, and kidnapping prevention and response methods. Through various experiential activities, the program seeks to help children develop safe living habits.
The safety education, which started on the 12th, is scheduled to be conducted at daycare centers in the region until December 18, with education currently underway for about 1,500 children at 38 daycare centers during October.
Applications for the "Visiting Children's Safety Education" will be accepted on an ongoing basis until November 30.
Jung Yong-gyun, Head of the Safety General Division, said, "We expect this education to help children form safety awareness and develop proper safety habits," adding, "We will continue to pay attention to children's safety to minimize the occurrence of safety accidents."
