[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will conduct a mobile vote from the 13th to the 27th to select the ‘2021 Geumcheon-gu Resident Participatory Budget Excellent Projects’.
This vote is held to promote the 2021 resident participatory budget projects totaling 1 billion KRW, gather residents’ opinions, and survey preferences to select excellent projects.
Previously, the district received a total of 125 resident participatory budget proposal projects through public submissions, and after review by related departments and evaluation by the Resident Participatory Budget Committee, 39 projects were selected as ‘2021 Resident Participatory Budget Projects’ in five categories: ‘Transportation/Housing,’ ‘Parks/Environment,’ ‘Welfare/Women,’ ‘Economy/Culture/Tourism,’ and ‘Education/Youth.’
Participants can vote for a total of 5 projects regardless of category among the 39 ‘2021 Resident Participatory Budget Projects.’
This mobile voting is open to all Geumcheon-gu residents, workers, and students located in Geumcheon-gu. After identity verification on the Seoul M-Voting website or M-Voting mobile app, participants can cast their votes.
The final selection of excellent projects for the 2021 Resident Participatory Budget will be determined by combining the results of this mobile vote (50%) and the vote results of the Geumcheon-gu Resident Participatory Budget Committee (50%).
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “The resident participatory budget mobile vote is an important process to decide local necessary projects that have gone through resident deliberation,” and added, “We ask for residents’ great interest and participation in the resident participatory budget mobile vote.”
