Emergency Livelihood Support for Vulnerable Households Application Open Until October 30... 1-Person Household 400,000 KRW, 2-Person 600,000 KRW, 3-Person 800,000 KRW, 4+ Persons 1,000,000 KRW Support
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) has launched emergency livelihood support for vulnerable households struggling due to the spread and prolongation of COVID-19.
The emergency livelihood support recipients are households whose income has decreased by 25% or more due to COVID-19, whose total household income is below 75% of the median income standard, and whose property value is below 600 million KRW based on metropolitan area standards. However, those already receiving existing welfare benefits (basic livelihood security or emergency livelihood benefits), recipients of emergency employment stabilization funds, Small Business New Hope Funds, Closed Store Re-challenge Incentives, Worker Employment Retention Support Funds, participants in the Youth Special Employment Support Program, and job-seeker allowance recipients are excluded.
Applications can be made by the head of the household on the Bokjiro website and mobile until October 30.
From the 19th to the 30th, on-site applications are also possible at the local community service centers of the applicant’s address. Both online and offline applications operate a day-of-week system based on the last digit of the birth year.
Applications are accepted only on Monday (1, 6), Tuesday (2, 7), Wednesday (3, 8), Thursday (4, 9), Friday (5, 0), Saturday (odd numbers), and Sunday (even numbers). Weekend applications are available online only.
When applying, applicants must submit the application form, consent form for personal information provision, and income verification documents. Household composition is based on the resident registration as of September 9, 2020, including cohabitants.
The support fund will be paid once in cash to the account applied for between November and December.
The payment amounts are ▲400,000 KRW for a single-person household ▲600,000 KRW for a two-person household ▲800,000 KRW for a three-person household ▲1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more.
Meanwhile, to ensure prompt consultation and implementation of emergency livelihood support for vulnerable households, the district formed a TF team consisting of district office and community service center staff from October 12.
The TF team is composed of ▲Dobong-gu Vulnerable Household Emergency Livelihood Support Dedicated Call Center Team ▲Emergency Livelihood Support Team (investigation and decision) ▲Community Service Center Civil Affairs Consultation and Appeal Desk Operation Team.
In particular, to resolve residents’ inquiries, the Dobong-gu Vulnerable Household Emergency Livelihood Support Call Center, staffed by 35 people at the district office, provides telephone consultations on eligibility, required documents, application procedures, payment methods, and appeal procedures.
Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu said, “We have formed TF teams at the district and community levels to support the livelihood stability of low-income households whose income has decreased due to COVID-19,” adding, “From the 12th, we will operate the Dobong-gu Vulnerable Household Emergency Livelihood Support Dedicated Call Center ourselves and do our best for prompt investigation and payment.”
