Democratic Party Gwangju Branch Holds 'Gwangju Development Strategy Policy Forum'
'Strategies for Promoting the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Megacity and Implications for Gwangju-Jeonnam' Topic
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Democratic Party of Korea Gwangju Metropolitan City Party Committee (Chairman Song Gap-seok) announced on the 13th that it will hold a policy forum on "The Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam (Bu-Ul-Gyeong) Megacity Promotion Strategy and Its Implications for Gwangju and Jeonnam."
The policy forum will be held on the 14th at 2 p.m. in the large conference room on the 4th floor of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council.
The forum is jointly hosted by the Democratic Party Gwangju City Party, Gwangju Metropolitan Council, and the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Innovation Research Association, with support from the Gwangju Research and Development Special Zone Headquarters.
Son Eun-il, Senior Policy Advisor to Gyeongnam Province, who is planning the Bu-Ul-Gyeong Megacity strategy under the theme "Another Capital Region, the Southeastern Megacity," will present as the keynote speaker.
At the event, Advisor Son will emphasize the necessity of a megacity in an era of capital concentration and regional imbalance and explain the currently promoted Southeastern Megacity platform.
Following the presentation, a discussion will be held centered on Park Kwang-seo, Honorary Professor at Chonnam National University and chairperson, along with Women-gu, Standing Advisor of Korea Electric Power Corporation University, Kim Young-jip, Vice President of GIST, Song Yong-heon, Head of Sarangbang Media Business Division, Yoon Hyun-seok, Political Department Chief of Gwangju Ilbo, and Lee Jeong-hwan, Chair of the Industry and Construction Committee of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council.
