Andong-si, 10th Anniversary 'Commemorative Tree Planting' of the Culture and Arts Center Opening... "Commemorative Performance Postponed"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Andong Culture and Arts Center announced on the 13th that it held a commemorative planting ceremony for the Andong Mugunghwa to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its opening at the Arts Center Plaza last October.
The event was attended by Kwon Young-se, Mayor of Andong, Kim Ho-seok, Chairman of Andong City Council, Kim Hyung-dong, National Assembly member, Jeong Sook-hee, President of the Korea Federation of Artistic & Cultural Organizations Andong Branch, Jo Gwang-rae, Advisor of Andong Fine Arts Association, Kim Min-seong, Conductor of Andong Youth Choir, Yeo Hae-sook, Instructor of Dream Orchestra, and Jin Yu-ri, member of Andong Youth Orchestra. The commemorative pine tree planted that day was donated by Cheon Seong-yong, CEO of Changseong Gongjo Co., Ltd.
Andong Culture and Arts Center, built with an investment of 49.5 billion KRW through a BTL method (a private investment project where the private sector builds public facilities and the government leases them), opened on September 17, 2010. It has two basement floors and three above-ground floors, featuring Woongbu Hall (994 seats), Baekjo Hall (276 seats), an outdoor performance hall, four specialized galleries, an international conference room equipped with simultaneous interpretation in four languages, a 24-lane international standard bowling alley, and a badminton court.

Jo Byung-gi, Director of Andong Culture and Arts Center, said, "We prepared many performances and exhibitions to celebrate the 10th anniversary, but it is very regrettable that only the commemorative planting ceremony could be held due to COVID-19," adding, "We will continue to do our best to develop cultural content to promote the development and revitalization of local culture and arts as well as to enhance citizens' cultural enjoyment rights."
