Gwangju Nam-gu Establishes 'Item Sharing Center' on the 1st Floor of Byeolgandong Building
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 12th that it will establish an Item Sharing Center on the first floor of the district office annex building to promote a sharing culture where limited resources are shared together.
The Nam-gu Item Sharing Center project will be in full swing starting this month. The location of the Item Sharing Center will be the underground parking lot on the first floor of the district office annex building, scheduled to be set up opposite the entrance of the Comprehensive Civil Service Office.
Nam-gu is accelerating construction work with the goal of opening the Item Sharing Center in January next year.
The design work for establishing the Item Sharing Center has been completed, and construction is planned to begin early next month, with the center expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The center will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
Nam-gu plans to purchase various daily necessities and tools, including camping equipment, to place in the center, and the rental fees are expected to be determined based on the rental period within a maximum range of 3% of the item price.
In addition, to promote the use of the Item Sharing Center, sharing experience programs such as woodworking and repairs will be introduced in connection with village projects.

A Nam-gu official said, “We will create a shared space that generates more utility from the same resources and shares diverse talents and experiences among people,” adding, “We will do our best in the center establishment project so that the Nam-gu Item Sharing Center can become a focal point for realizing social value.”
