LG Uplus Donates 400kg of Pet Food to Stray Animals Through SNS Campaign
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 12th that it donated approximately 400 kg of pet food accumulated through a social network service (SNS) campaign to KARA, an animal rights organization.
LG Uplus conducted an SNS participation campaign to raise awareness about abandoned animals throughout September via its official Facebook and Instagram accounts. In this event, for each supportive comment and friend tag, 100g of pet food was accumulated per comment, resulting in a total of over 3,800 comments. The accumulated pet food will be used for about 140 companion animals sheltered at 'The Bom Center,' a pet welfare center in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.

Ryu Chang-soo, Executive Director of LG Uplus Home Product Group, said, "We conducted this SNS participation campaign to contribute to the development of a mature companion animal culture and to allow customers to easily participate in donations." He added, "In the future, we plan to carry out campaigns that help solve various social issues by utilizing our excellent services such as U+ Elementary Country kids content, 5G, and smart home."
