The Gwangju Northern Police Station announced on the 11th that they have applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of causing the death of the elderly woman by drunk driving.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of drunk driving on the road in Yongbong-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, at around 5:55 a.m. on the 9th, fatally hitting a woman in her 70s who was moving along the roadside to collect recyclables early in the morning.
Mr. A's blood alcohol concentration was significantly above the license cancellation limit of 0.08%.
