'Beautiful Forests of Yangcheon' Photo Contest
Yangcheon-gu Holds Beautiful Forest Photo Contest Until the 18th, Prizes Awarded to 100 Participating Residents
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is holding the event "Take Photos of Yangcheon Forest Alone! See the Beautiful Photo Exhibition!" which invites photo submissions and exhibitions themed around the beautiful forests of Yangcheon-gu.
The district has been conducting forest interpretation projects to enhance satisfaction with forest recreation, systematically convey the value and functions of forests to residents, and introduce various experiences that can be enjoyed in the forest. This year, due to social distancing measures from COVID-19, they operated both small group face-to-face programs and non-face-to-face programs through online channels such as Kakao Channel and YouTube.
This forest photo contest is part of the forest interpretation project. With the arrival of the pleasant autumn season for walks, it was planned to encourage residents to naturally visit the beautiful forests of Yangcheon-gu by inviting photos of the forests and forest experiences, provide abundant visual attractions by exhibiting beautiful forest photos, and contribute to alleviating the prolonged COVID-19 related depression.
The photo contest runs from October 7 to October 18. Participants can visit forests such as Sinjeong Mountain, Yongwang Mountain, and Anyangcheon, take photos, and send them to the KakaoTalk channel "People Who Went to Yangcheon Forest" with photo titles in the format "(Place) is ???," for example, "Galsan Park is a hidden treasure" or "Anyangcheon is an autumn path."
The district will provide mobile coupons as prizes to 100 residents who participate in the contest. The submitted photos will also be made into beautiful postcards and videos and showcased to residents through online and offline photo exhibitions.
The offline photo exhibition will be held for two days on October 24 and 25 at Anyangcheon Ecological Park (from Omokgyo to Sinjeonggyo), and the online photo exhibition will be posted from October 31 on the KakaoTalk channel and YouTube ("People Who Went to Yangcheon Forest").
Additionally, at the offline photo exhibition, a total of 600 residents participating in the event will receive small chrysanthemum pots as souvenirs.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, "It will be an opportunity to find and enjoy the hidden forest scenery of Yangcheon one by one, just like searching for treasures during autumn picnics in childhood," adding, "I hope many will participate in the photo exhibition by capturing various aspects of Yangcheon Forest that they usually hesitate to keep to themselves, and share and enjoy them together."
