WHO "COVID-19 New Cases Surge to Nearly 340,000"

[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) worldwide is approaching 340,000, showing the largest daily increase.
According to foreign media on the 8th (local time), WHO reported that 338,779 new COVID-19 cases were recorded. This is an increase from the previous highest number of 330,340 cases on the 2nd.
India had the highest number of new cases at 78,524, followed by Brazil with 41,906, and the United States with 38,904 new cases.
The upward trend is also confirmed by international statistics sites such as Worldometer. Even before the country-by-country tally was completed (as of 6:40 AM Korea time), 302,702 new COVID-19 cases were recorded. The previous day saw 343,793 new cases reported.
