Lee Gae-ho Appointed as Special Advisor to Lee Nak-yeon, Leader of the Democratic Party
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Gae-ho, member of the National Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea·Damyang Hampyeong Yeonggwang Jangseong), has been appointed as the special advisor team leader to Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party.
The Democratic Party reported Lee's appointment as the party leader's special advisor team leader at the Supreme Council meeting held on the 7th and began forming the special advisor team.
Appointed as the team leader, Lee plans to form a special advisor team of about 20 members, including current lawmakers, out-of-office chairpersons, and external experts, and is working on personnel selection.
Lee stated, "The special advisor team will faithfully provide policy and political advice to the party leader, striving to ensure that the party stably supports state affairs and plays a central role in overcoming the COVID-19 national crisis."
He added, "Going forward, the special advisor team will be expanded into various fields such as regions, professions, youth, and women, and through active communication with the party leader, the team's advice will practically contribute to party operations," outlining the operational direction.

Lee, who was elected in a by-election held as Lee Nak-yeon ran for governor of Jeollanam-do and became a three-term lawmaker, has consistently supported Lee Nak-yeon's political path from governor of Jeollanam-do to party leader.
