The Seoul People's Rally will be conducted online in accordance with the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.
On the 7th, the Preparation Committee held a press conference in front of Seoul City Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, urging the government and the National Assembly to discuss the Jeon Tae-il 3 Laws. Participants also performed a symbolic act of placing placards with demands such as the Jeon Tae-il 3 Laws on a model representing the 'roundtable'.
The Jeon Tae-il 3 Laws refer to amendments to the Labor Standards Act and the Trade Union Act, including the application of the Labor Standards Act to workplaces with fewer than five employees and guaranteeing labor rights for special employment workers, as well as the establishment of the Serious Accident Corporate Punishment Act. On the 19th of last month, the Jeon Tae-il 3 Laws reached 100,000 supporters in the National Assembly's public petition system. When a public petition receives more than 100,000 supporters, it is forwarded to the relevant standing committee for discussion in the National Assembly.
On this day, the Preparation Committee also called for securing jobs for disabled workers. Moon Aerin, representative of the Seoul Disability Discrimination Abolition Solidarity, stated, "Seoul City is planning to abolish the public job policy for 260 severely disabled persons that has been implemented since last year," and demanded, "Please include the disabled public job sector in next year's budget."
