View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 114 on the 7th. This is the first time in a week since the 30th of last month that the number of new confirmed cases has reached triple digits.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on that day, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases rose by 114 from the previous day’s midnight to 24,353.
Looking at the infection routes of the new confirmed cases, 94 were locally transmitted and 20 were imported from overseas.
Among the locally transmitted cases, 49 were in Gyeonggi, 29 in Seoul, 6 in Jeonbuk, 5 in Incheon, 2 in Busan, 2 in Daejeon, and 1 in Daegu.
Of the 20 imported cases, 7 were identified during quarantine upon entry. The rest tested positive while in self-quarantine at their residences or temporary living facilities in various regions: 4 in Seoul, 4 in Gyeonggi, 2 in Jeonbuk, 1 in Incheon, 1 in Ulsan, and 1 in Sejong.

The number of patients who have been declared fully recovered and released from isolation reached 22,334, an increase of 251 from the previous day. The death toll rose by 3 to 425.
